How to change currency in Shopify?

When setting up a Shopify store, your default currency is initially tied to your store’s location. However, the platform’s flexibility allows you to offer products in different currencies as a store owner.

How to change the Default Currency in Shopify

Steps

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Settings.

  2. Click Store details and scroll right down to the shop currency section.

  3. In the Store currency section, click Three-dot icon, and then choose Change store currency.

    4. In the Pop-up, select a new unit.

       * (Optional) To choose a reason for changing, click on the radio button.
    5. Click Save.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

  • If you haven’t made any sales yet, you’ll be able to still change your currency and easily select it from the dropdown.
  • If you already have an order, you cannot change the shop currency yourself. you would like to contact Shopify support and ask them for help.

Q1. Will changing my store’s currency affect my existing product prices on Shopify?

A: Yes, changing your store’s currency can affect existing product prices. The prices may be automatically converted based on the current exchange rate, which could lead to variations in the displayed amounts.

Q2. Can I change my currency in Zopi?

A. Unfortunately, Zopi doesn’t currently support changing currencies. The currency for products will align with the settings in your Shopify admin.

Q3. I changed my currency on Shopify, but Zopi isn’t reflecting the update. What’s going on?

A. Zopi converts only when importing new products while existing products remain displayed in the original currency. To fix this case, the only solution is to re-import your listed products straight into the app.
