How to meet special customs clearance requirements
For orders to Brazil and some orders to Korea, there is a required field called Additional Information on the Shopify checkout page where your customers can fill in the customs clearance information. Zopi will help you synchronize them and fulfill orders with some simple clicks.
For orders to Mexico, add a custom field in the Company section on your Shopify Checkout page to allow buyers to input their RFC/CURP directly during the checkout process. If the Company field is missing, you can manually update the RFC/CURP by opening the Customer Detail in Zopi’s Order Center and entering the RFC/CURP in the Company field.
For orders to Chile and some other orders to Korea, there is no field for your customers to fill in the customs clearance information, you will need to add a field manually. Here’s the way to do it:
Step 1: Modifying the Themes
- Go to your Shopify admin > Online Store > Themes.
- Click the Three-dot icon and click Edit default theme content in the Dawn section.
3. Click Checkout & System and find the Checkout contact part.
4. Fill in the corresponding field as follow:
I. If you are targeting Chile/Korea exclusively, you should fill in the Company label box with “RUT” or “Custom Clearance Information(CCI)”, which means that all your customers placing orders will need to enter the field;
II. If you are doing business in several different countries including Chile/Korea, you should fill in the Optional company label box with those same words, which means that your customers outside of Chile/Korea can dismiss the field.
5. Click Save.
Step 2: Modifying the settings
- Go to your Shopify admin > Settings > Checkout.
- Scroll to the Customer information section.
- Under the Company name part, select the radio button in front of Required if you fill in the Company label box or the radio button in front of Optional if you fill in the Optional company label box.
4. Click Save.
Once done with the settings above, Zopi will now help you synchronize the information to the corresponding fields in Customer info.
