How does Lunar New Year 2025 impact order processing?

Lunar New Year, also known as Spring Festival, is one of the biggest events in East Asian countries. During this time, most manufacturing businesses close down to celebrate. If you’re running a dropshipping store, you might wonder: “How does this impact order processing?” Let’s break it down:

For 2025, the Lunar New Year falls earlier than usual, running from January 25th to February 4th. During this period, there are two important things to be aware of, regardless of whether you fulfill by Zopi or fulfill by source:

  1. Zopi Fulfillment Service: Zopi acts solely as a sales agent between you (the merchant) and the suppliers, facilitating transactions and providing support services. If you place an order during this time, Zopi’s suppliers will be pending order processing.
  2. Dropshipping Sources: Zopi does not stock the products listed in your listings. Instead, you fulfill orders through Zopi and purchase items from your suppliers, such as AliExpress, Temu, or CJ Dropshipping. These products are then repackaged and shipped to your customers. If the products are located in a China warehouse, the manufacturer producing the products is likely closed. Orders placed during this period will not be shipped until the manufacturers reopen after the Lunar New Year.

So, if you keep selling products through your dropshipping store for Lunar New Year, it’s essential to inform your customers about potential shipping delays:

  • Update your dropshipping site’s announcement bar: Position the announcement bar at the top of your website, ensuring it’s one of the first things customers see. Clearly communicate the impact of the Lunar New Year on your business with a message like: “Expect Temporary Shipping Delays During the Lunar New Year Holiday.”
  • Set post-purchase email notifications: Add a message about the shipping delays to your email notifications. This way, once a customer places an order, they’ll receive an email reminder about the shipping delays.
