Making your product prices attractive and competitive is essential for driving sales in your eCommerce store. When you lower the price of a product, it’s crucial for customers to understand the price comparison. This not only highlights your discounts but also enhances the appeal of your products. Zopi’s Compare At Price feature allows you to display both the original and discounted prices in your online store without needing discount codes. However, knowing about this feature is just the first step; you also need to understand how to set it up correctly and when to use it effectively.
What Is Compare At Price?
The Compare At Price feature enables you to showcase the original price of a product before any discounts are applied. By displaying both the original price and the discounted price, you can effectively communicate the savings to your customers, making the discount more enticing and encouraging purchases.
For example, if you are selling a product that originally costs $50 but you are offering it at a discounted price of $35, the Compare At Price would be $50, and the Price would be $35. This way, customers can easily see the value they are getting from the discount.
How To Use Compare At Price Effectively?
Option 1: Set Compare At Price in Bulk
Steps
Follow these steps to set the Compare At Price in bulk, allowing you to efficiently manage multiple products:
- Login to Zopi > Settings & Billing > Product.
- In the Price setup tab, turn on Auto pricing.
- Once you turn on Auto pricing, Basic pricing rule is selected by default.
- Modify your desired “Multiply” or “Plus” and add a fixed number to your Compare At Price.
- Click Save.
Option 2: Set Compare At Price for Individual Products
Steps
To set the Compare At Price for individual products, follow these steps:
- Login to Zopi > Imported List.
- Click the product name to open a window with multiple tabs for editing product details.
- Scroll down to find the Push Variants tab.
- Select all the product variants to which you want to add a Compare At Price via the checkbox on the left side and click Edit Compare At Price.
- In the pop-up, modify your desired “Multiply” or “Plus” and add a fixed number to your Compare At Price.
- Click Save for the new changes.
You may set these prices as you see fit. However, keep in mind that customers may be suspicious of a high price comparison compared to the selling price. If it seems too high, it could be perceived as a fake discount, which might affect your sales strategy and undermine trust.
QUICK TIP: Set your Compare At Price by multiplying your cost price by 2.5 to 3 for optimal results.
When Should You Use the Compare At Price Feature?
Utilize the Compare At Price option to emphasize the value you’re providing to consumers through discounts:
- Seasonal Sales: Events like Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and summer or back-to-school sales can benefit from Compare At Price to highlight seasonal discounts.
- Flash Sales: Use Compare At Price to create urgency and highlight the importance of limited-time discounts.
- Clearance Sales: When clearing out outdated stock, Compare At Price can show shoppers the savings on clearance items.
